Well known place as a central area of Tokyo. Shinjuku is the largest downtown in Japan. About 3,640,000(including Seibu-Shinjuku Station) people use Shinjuku station a day. It’s the same number as population of Yokohama city (Second largest city in Japan)!

Shinjuku / 新宿

  • [East Shinjuku] At the east end of Shinjuku’s downtown, Shinjuku Imperial garden shows varieties of faces in each seasons.
  • [West Shinjuku] Big camera shops and department stores are next to Shinjuku Station. Omoide-Yokocho is an old bar street in Shinjuku. Please be careful for the price!!
  • [North Shinjuku] This area is called “Kabukicho/歌舞伎町”. This district is consist of restaurants, hotels.  ”Shinjuku Golden Gai” is a part of Kabukicho.
  • [South Shinjuku] A skyscraper Shinjuku Takashimaya (famous department store) is directly connected with a pedestrian overpass from Shinjuku station.

Takadanobaba / 高田馬場

Takadanobaba is famous for student’s town. Many Ramen restaurants in Takadanobaba. Also famous place for the revenge story in Edo period.

Okubo / 大久保

The largest Korean town in Japan. You can enjoy Korean culture and food like spicy soup, salad and Yakiniku(Korean-style barbecued meat). Manner is different from Japanese style.

Kagurazaka / 神楽坂

Before early 20th century, Kagura was played in Kagurazaka. It is an orign of Kagurazaka’s name. Kagura is a kind of Japanese traditional sacred music and dancing performed at shrines.Kagurazaka used to be a red-light district. It’s peculiar street stll remains only here in Japan.

Yotsuya / 四谷

Yotsuya is a residential district near to Shinjuku.

Ochiai / 落合

Ochiai is a upper-class residential area near to Shinjuku.
